The Sneak Of The Week is the Air Jordan XII ‘Flu Game’. This retro sneaker commemorates one of the biggest games in Michael Jordans career. With the series knotted up 2-2 in a pivotal Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz, MJ came down with the flu. Fever, dehydration, and a stomach virus were no match for Michael as he went on to score 38 points in that game, including a game deciding three pointer with 25 seconds left. The Bulls won the game 90-88, and a sick and slumped Jordan was carried off the court by his team mate Scottie Pippin. They would go on to win the 1997 NBA Championship the very next game. To pay homage to this event Jordan Brand has brought back the black and red Jordan XIIs also known as the ‘Playoffs’. This special edition commemorates the MJ’s “Flu Game” by adding the numbers 97 for the year, and 38 for the points, along side an iconic sick face.
