Today Ish and Atom of The Houston Sports Rapp bum rushed the #1 Morning Talk Show in Houston to present 1560AM Sports Talk Legend, Lance Zierlein The Official ‘Rappin’ Dad’ Sneakers for his alter ego, ‘Rappin’ Dad’. The shoes were designed and provided by Kadoma of The H-Town Sneaker Summit. The ‘Rappin Dad’ Logo was laser engraved by Prplmint.com on shoes purchased at Premium Goods. The shoes were received very well by the entire crew, and ironically already matched unsuspecting ‘Rappin’ Dad’s’ fit. Afterward, Kadoma sat down and talked on air a bit more about the shoes and the upcoming H-Town Sneaker Summit, but he couldn’t manage to film and talk at the same time. In the mid 90′s the biggest contender to the champion Air Jordan line was the Nike Air Penny. Each of the lines boasted the latest developments in basketball footwear technology with every release, and were advertised in what would become some of Nike’s most classic commercials. Some would even argue the lines held a ‘neck to neck’ battle for basketball footwear supremacy. However after issuing a small series of groundbreaking sneakers, Penny Hardaway’s basketball career became plagued with injuries, and Nike would never be able to market the All Star the same. Last year Nike re-issued a couple of pairs of the Nike Air Penny II that originally made it’s debut in 1996 including; the Black/Atlantic Blue ‘Away’ colorway, and the ever popular ‘All Star’ colorway which made the shoes take off. Disappointing some of the hardcore Penny fans, the White/Atlantic Blue ‘Home’ colorway was not retro’ed…until now. This Saturday, the Nike Air Penny II White/Atlantic Blue will be making it’s return as a ‘Quickstrike’ release, only available in small quantities at select accounts such as Politics in Laffeyette, LA, Adikt in Dallas, TX, and Premium Goods in Houston, TX.
